Tuition:
Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $9,100.
Assumption High School provides financial assistance to as many as students with demonstrated financial need as possible. For the 2007-08 school year, $360,000 was budgeted for financial assistance.
Our financial aid comes from the generous donations of our constituents. The annual fund and events such as Rocket Spectacular and Walk-for-AHS involve our parent, alumnae, faculty and staff, and student communities in supporting tuition assistance.
To apply for tuition assistance:
- Contact the Business Office after January 1 to obtain an application;
- Return the completed application directly to Private School Aid Service (PSAS). Financial-Aid applications are usually due to PSAS in early March.
- Register your daughter in March.
Families are notified in May of the tuition assistance awards. Typically 80% of those who apply receive some assistance. Applications must be submitted annually. Please call the Assumption Business Office at (502) 454-8402 for more information or to request a financial aid application.
Scholarships are also available for AHS students, including incoming freshmen. Visit the Scholarships section of the website for more information.
Admissions:
Students interested in attending Assumption High School should plan to take the High School Placement Test at Assumption on December 8. (Please see prospective student page for more information.)
A note from the Archdiocese of Louisville...
This High School Placement/Entrance Test helps Catholic secondary schools determine the most appropriate course work and academic path for meeting the needs of individual students. The placement test is only one of several tools used for academic placement. There are many variables that help determine whether or not students are accepted into the secondary school of their choice. Taking the placement test does not guarantee admission into a Catholic secondary school.
Transfer Students:
High school students interested in transferring to Assumption should provide/complete the following information before any application can be considered:
- Unofficial transcript which should contain:
- Grades, credits and classes to date
- Attendance information
- High School Placement Test scores (or other placement test scores) if available
- Standardized Test Scores (CAT tests, PLAN scores, etc.)
- Completed Transfer Application Information Form (see below to download)
- 2 completed recommendation forms (these should be sent directly to us from your current school. See below to download)
- Shadow visit or tour of Assumption High School (contact our Advancement office at (502) 458-6258 to schedule a shadow date or tour of the school)
Transfer application and accompanying forms can be submitted, along with a copy of transcripts and admission information, to Kathy Fleischer, registrar. The transcripts will be used to determine the student's academic needs and appropriate placement. If our limited enrollment allows, and the student's needs can be met, the potential transfer student will be contacted and an interview with an assistant principal and grade level counselor will be scheduled.
